Th Reform party has published plans for the mass deportation of Asylum seekers and other migrants from the UK, if they gain political power.. What sort of moral swamp did this policy come from? Mass deportations are illegal under international and national law. The UK parliament would have to sanction Britain leaving the ECHR and the !951 Refugee treaties. It would also have to abolish The UK Human Rights Act.
Their immigration policies could see families being broken up and asylum seekers being sent to countries that would torture them and abuse their rights further, This is morally reprehensible.
Britain could become a pariah state if it abandons the ECHR and Refugee treaties to the detriment of or social standing and economy. Our Brexit trade agreement with the EU is dependent on Britain being a member of the ECHR.
Reforms immigration policies would be very costly from an economic point of view and could even cost billons of pounds; perhaps this would not be so patriotic.
The policy is a pretence which could not be implemented. The policy will be a promise made to appeal to populist opinion; it is promise which will be broken.
It is time for every one in the UK to wake up and vote against this.
